Photo Thursday: Candlelight

Thanks to everyone who participated last week. It was a tough one!

This week let's spend less time thinking, more time photographing.

You know the flickering of candlelight? There is something about it that creates a warm mood that is completely unique. Dancing light and shade move about a room, and  warm orange colour illuminates people's faces, and it is so peaceful.

This is sometimes where photography fails me. You just can't snap a picture that adequately captures the feelings and mood that is created when a group of friends share stories around a crackling fire. I'm convinced it's impossible.

What might be possible to capture though, is the calm atmosphere and  warm orange colour that candlight produces.

This photo Thursday, I wonder if you would take the flash off your camera, light some candles, and try to get a good shot of anything, under candlelight. Take a picture of your favourite books under candlelight, of yourself under candlelight, or even take a picture of the candles themselves.

Warm orangey goodness. Serene and peaceful.  Why not light a cyber-candle to get you in the mood?
