Believing Mirrors

Hello! This is Kari, aka ArtsyMama back again. I'm absolutely amazed on a daily basis in the goodness of the blogging world. The amazing people that are out there supporting one another in their creative efforts is astonishing. I have had my blog ArtsyMama for over a year and a half and it has truly transformed the way that I look at my world. It has opened up my creative well in a way I could have never imagained and I have met so many amazing people that I sure hope I can meet someday in person...maybe at justBe...Connected!

*Creativity is an act of faith. Believing mirrors give us faith in our faith.*

Julia Cameron writes about “believing mirrors” in her book Finding Water. These are people in your life that are gifted, interesting, and generous. They are sincere and optimistic and bring optimism and hope to you.

Know anyone like that? I do….a whole lot of bloggers out there. Cameron writes about believing mirrors as focusing on our process as an artist and finding the dignity in the fact of making art. There are so many bloggers out there that have reached out to me through my blog. So many that have read my blog for a long time or even a short time and have supported me. Through blogging I find that I form relationships that nurture my self-belief. We all look past one another’s differences to find the divine spark within each other.

After reading Ali’s post here, about what she has gotten from the blogging community, it reminds me of all that we have to offer one another. It also reminds me of how important and event like justBe...Connected really is. We all converge together in one place and our believing mirrors become real. Not that they aren’t real when they’re online. But as I saw at ArtFest, it’s important to give flesh to our alliance. Connecting IN PERSON is so powerful. We reflect back to one another our competency and potential in our creative lives. We all need optimism and hope in ourselves and we also have that to offer one another.

So who are your believing mirrors?
Who are you a believer in?

Here's my getting to know you. It all started with you guys! I love connecting. Please be sure to post yours as well.

Amen to what Helene said. I have felt so safe in sharing my "firsts" in the blogging world. Each baby step is supported with "yeah, you did it!" It keeps me moving and creating and willing to put myself out there.

There are so many supportive, creative people. Each and every blog has so much to share that I could spend weeks just clicking from one creative person to another. I'm enjoying my friendships and my new world...To all you wonderufl people, thank you for sharing!

I am finding out everyday how true your words are. It's nice to find a place you can not only be creative, but feel safe in sharing. I'm even willing to share "firsts" with people, and that's a big step. People are wonderful out there!

I also appreciate your words about believing mirrors to be with fellow bloggers, as I hadn't thought of it that way before.
You are connecting so many people! thanks

Wow, I'm the first one? Cool! This one took some thought, but I really enjoyed reflecting on the mirrors in my life (pun intended!) Here's my response!
