Hello everyone, it's Holly again, my last GTKY Wednesday. It was a super busy weekend for me, my nephew's first birthday party on Saturday and then my future sister-in-law's wedding shower on Sunday. I got to thinking of these very special days and I remembered when I was getting ready to marry my sweet husband and when my darling son turned one. I couldn't help but think of so many different things that people told me as I began my journey as a bride and then as a mother. I think we've all had times in our lives when our loved ones had so many things to tell us, what we should do, why we should listen to them and mostly how they knew better than we did. I don't know about you, but there's always been a few friends and family members that I just never wanted to listen to what they had to say, but looking down the road now, a few years older and maybe a little bit wiser, I realize they only had my best interests at heart and maybe, just maybe, they did know what they were talking about... Which leads me up to today's questions.
1) When you were growing up, who was the "wisest" person you were close to? How did you know they knew what they were talking about?
2) Did you ever have a relative/friend give unsolicited advice that perhaps at the time it was given, were resentful, but later came to find out they were right?
3) Have you ever regretted not taking someone's advice?
4) What words of wisdom would you give to someone trying to find their way in the world? What words did you hear that helped you find your way?
You can find my answers here. Thanks for playing along with me this month, I appreciate everyone's answers and words of encouragement.
I answered the questions yesterday, but forgot to post a link. Silly, me. :-D
