Fruits and Veggies Swap Roundup

I hope everyone has sent out their swap!  I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to host this swap, it's gone well and was fun to see it come to fruition.  (Oof, had to!)  I have started seeing received packages on blogs!  Here is the roundup so far:

Katie_to_tiffany Kate's package to Tiffany included this fun cherries bag!

Tiffany_to_carolee_2 Tiffany's package to Carolee had all kinds of neat things like fruit leather and a pin cushion.

Tart And my own secret pal, Carolee, sent me this awesome multi-media painting!  If you can't read it, it say "if it's ok for apples to be tart, why not me?"  Ha!

Time to gather up all your goodies, don't forget your recipe card, box it all up and mail it out to your partner who is anxiously waiting!  If you're going to be late for whatever reason, please be sure and email me so we're all on the same page.

A little reminder: When you get your package, posting a picture and a little description on your blog/flickr/etc. is a nice way to thank your partner and I'll be showcasing those show-and-tells here next Monday.

October's 5-A-Day Swap

CorgiPants here to tell you that you have one week left to sign up for the October 5-A-Day swap.
Corgi_stuff_260 The theme is fruits and vegetables and is only limited by your imagination.  Maybe your partner would appreciate some seeds for their garden or a cherry pitter.  Maybe a gardening apron or fun socks with pumpkins on them!  Maybe they collect teacups and you found one with apples on it or they like yarn and you found some in a color called peach fuzz.  I gathered up a few fruit and vegetable items from around the house and took a picture to inspire some fruit and vegetable love.  I found pottery items, fabric, stickers and die-cuts, a book with hilarious pictures of fruits and vegetables dressed up like humans and some jewelry and other crafts.

Here's the timeline again:

Sign up by October 7th, 2007
Partners assigned on October 8th, 2007 (You will be sending to ONE partner but not  the same person that sends to you.)

October's Swap- 5-A-Day Swap with CorgiPants

Hello!  I'm Jenna, your October Swap Day host!  I write the SwapDex and can also be found at my personal blog, CorgiPants

This month our theme is:
5-A-Day Fruits and Veggies Swap

Here in the US, it's harvest time!  And while we're reaping our bounties, in other parts of the world gardeners are planning and planting their gardens and dreaming of their rewards for their hard work.  We all know we should eat a variety of fruits and veggies.  But did you also know that we should wear, write on, decorate our homes with and mail out a variety of fruits and veggies as well?  Ok, maybe that's not what the official guidelines say.  But I think it's true.  Fruits and veggies are colorful and always make me smile!  Some ideas to get you thinking: grape cluster earrings, cherry note cards, eggplant salt and pepper shakers, a plush bell pepper, celery and carrot apron, watermelon place mats, a pea pod-shaped eye pillow, you get the idea.  Maybe keep in mind your partner's favorites or expand their knowledge with regional delicacies.  (Please do not send any ACTUAL produce as the postal service doesn't like that.)

Your swap package should include:
at least one fruit and/or veggie themed item (preferably handmade)
AND
at least one recipe that features fruits and/or veggies

Timeline:

Partners assigned on October 8th, 2007 (You will be sending to ONE partner but not  the same person that sends to you.)

Favorite things winging their way...

to you! I hope that everyone has now packed up a treasure box of favorite things (WITH the required note, of course) and sent it off to your respective swap partners!!

If you have not mailed your package yet, please get in contact with your partner. Life happens. We all know that, BUT it's no fun to have sent off your box, only to never RECEIVE a fun box! Just keep in touch with your partner. It helps to know that something is coming, even if it may be a bit late!

If you still haven't been able to get in touch with your partner, or you haven't heard from the person sending to you, let me know! I'll see what I can do to help!

Once you start getting your packages in the mail, we'd all love to see what you received!! If you have a blog and post about your package, leave us the link. Or if you don't have a blog - leave a comment here so we know that you did receive your package!

I hope you all had fun figuring out your Favorite Things!! Can't wait to see what everyone likes!!

Swap Partners Revealed

Favorite
Here we go! Your swap partners are revealed today!! (Photo on the right is a collage of some of my favorite things - including my BF Mike, my cats, flowers, etc.)

I decided to go with sending to one partner, but receiving from someone else. This way, maybe you'll get to meet two new people! Below you will find your name twice. Once with your "SHIP TO" partner. And once AS a ship to partner.

I believe I have gotten everyone's name (there were 18 signed up!) and I hope that I have adhered to your shipping requests. Please let me know if there is a problem! This is my first swap, so I'm new at this, but I'll do my best to correct any problems that may arise. (Hopefully none!)

It is up to you to contact your SHIP TO partners to get their mailing information. If you don't hear from the person who is to ship to YOU, please contact them as well! Please get your package ready and mail it out by next Monday. (Sooner if you can, especially if your partner is overseas!) We'll share and tell on Monday, September 24!

Thanks for playing! I can't wait to see what everyone's favorite things packages include!!

Our Favorite Things - September Swap

Pickles (which I just canned on Sunday - bread and butter variety)

Books - any and all actually

Sharpies - definitely my favorite medium for drawing and art!

These are just a few of my favorite things. What are yours? We are swapping our favorite things in September! Now, I know most of these things I listed aren't easy to put in a swap package, but won't it be fun to figure out what to send?

The swaps that I have participated in here at CaC have been some of the most fun. This one that I am hosting is wide open. Choose which of your favorite things to send: hand-made, second-hand, store-bought, it's your choice. No dollar limit. The only rule is that you need to write a note explaining WHY you chose to send your swap partner what you sent! That's it!

Leave a comment here (or in last week's post!) and you're in. Be sure there is a way to contact you (either via your blog or an email) and tell me if you're willing to send outside of your country. The comments on this post and last week's will be closed this coming Friday, so don't delay in signing up!!

September Swap - Our Favorite Things

Hi, Tammy here from Mimmsical Creations (my blog, which has been pretty quiet lately!) and I'm your guest-host for the September swap!

September is my favorite month! For one reason, my birthday is in September (25th to be exact). For another reason, fall officially begins in September, and I love fall! I decided since I'm hosting the swap for September, that we would swap our favorite things!
Soundofmusic4_2

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with string
These are a few of my favorite things."

(Sound of Music, My Favorite Things)

I want this to be a fun swap, one that everyone can participate in. There is NO limit on how much you have to spend. You can make something for your swap partner, or if you're not the crafty type, buy them something. Send them a used copy of your favorite book. This is a wide open swap!

The only rule is this: include a note as to why you've chosen to send what you did. Why is it your favorite? Explain to your partner the sentiment behind the swap package! Some of my favorite swaps have included wonderful notes about not only the "swap goodies" but about the person sending them to me as well. Get a bit personal here! Getting to know your swap partner is a good thing! It's all about connections after all!

What will you put in your swap box? What do you consider your favorite things? And how will you explain this to your partner? All things to consider!!

Sign ups start now and will end on Friday, September 7th (Comments will be closed at that time to avoid confusion!) Then, on Monday, September 10th, I will post your partners and the swapping can begin! This is the first swap I've hosted, so I'm looking forward to working with all of you!!

Email me if you have questions. Comment on this post if you want to swap. Please specify if you would be OK swapping outside of your own country (or not). Let's have some swapping fun!

August Swap Show -n- Tell

Sorry folks... this is a good bit later than Monday.  I'm sure you all know how life can be sometimes!

I hope that you have all had a lovely time with this month's swap, "Northwest... Take Me Away".  I hope that you each sent and received things that delighted another and that you were delighted by.  I can't wait to see what all you got and I'm sure others would love to as well.

Please post on your blog about your packages and then post a link here.  It would be fun to see the lovelies of everyone else and, of course, fun to keep the blog-visiting and friend-making going.

Signing off...     Zazazu
